Mayor Rick DeGolia signed the Town of Atherton’s Proclamation endorsing the five Back from the Brink Points in pursuit of preventing nuclear war. The five steps have been endorsed by 250 health, environmental, academic, peace, faith, and justice organizations, and have been incorporated in resolutions approved by fifty municipalities, including nine California cities (Arcata, Berkeley, Carlsbad, Eureka, Los Angeles, Menlo Park, Ojai, Santa Barbara and Santa Monica,) as well as by the California State Assembly in Joint Resolution 33 passed on Sept. 25, 2018. NOW, THEREFORE, as Mayor of the Town of Atherton, and on behalf of the Atherton City Council, we do hereby support, applaud and join the efforts of these other cities and the California State Assembly in the pursuit of preventing nuclear war.
