SIGNED: Letter to encourage The Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) is the agency that regulates stationary sources of air pollution (like PM) to achieve air quality standards, with the goal of reducing and eliminating health problems caused by air pollution. BAAQMD is considering a stricter regulation (amendment to Rule 6-5) that would require local oil refineries to upgrade their facilities with the best current technology. This new technology would remove harmful particulate pollution from emissions to protect the communities living near these plants.
